Dan Trachtenberg’s Paramount Deal Doesn’t Kill His 'Predator' Plans

Paramount Deal Won't Stifle 'Predator' Future

A new development in Dan Trachtenberg's Paramount deal has left fans breathing a sigh of relief. Contrary to concerns that his first-look partnership with the studio would put the future of 'Predator' on hold, Trachtenberg has assured us that it won't be the end of the franchise just yet.

Trachtenberg sat down with io9 recently to discuss the upcoming home release of 'Predator: Badlands', and was asked directly if his Paramount deal meant he'd never direct another 'Predator' movie. The answer, fortunately, is no. "It does not mean that," Trachtenberg replied. Instead, it simply means that he's now working with a new partner who shares his vision for the franchise.

The director confessed to being in a similar state of mind when he directed 'Prey', where he was eager to explore new creative avenues and ideas. His excitement over a potential 'Predator' protagonist and animated movie featuring multiple time periods aligns perfectly with what Paramount has to offer.

Trachtenberg's enthusiasm for the franchise is evident, as he acknowledged that his deal with Paramount means he'll now have the opportunity to bring some of his long-held ideas to life. The studio also boasts an impressive portfolio of IP, which he believes will enable him to create something truly special.

While timing may play a role in the project's development, Trachtenberg reassures fans that everything is still on the table. It seems that 'Predator' has simply taken on new dimensions, and its future is looking brighter than ever.

The wait for 'Predator: Badlands' is almost over, with the film now available on demand and set to hit Disney+ and Hulu on February 12. Physical media releases are slated for February 17.
