FAA Says Laser Strikes on Aircraft Fell for Third Consecutive Year The Federal Aviation Administration reports that laser strikes against aircraft declined for the third consecutive year, with 4,400 reported incidents between January and July this year.
This represents a 24 percent drop from the same period in 2025.
Each of these incidents poses a serious safety threat to pilots, who can experience debilitating eye injuries, disorientation, and temporary blindness due to laser exposure.
