idk why ppl still r surprised by nycs congestion pricing , i mean its been like 5 years now and they've managed to rake in half a bil in revenue . but seriously, its not all sunshine & rainbows... i'm kinda worried bout the lawsuit tho , what if the feds do take away highway funding? wont affect public transport too much . on the other hand, its dope to see traffic speeds improve & air quality get better . btw, $15 bil in infrastructure upgrades is straight fire .
I mean, think about it... $562 million is a whole lotta cash! And what's even more interesting is that the MTA had to adjust those pricing structures mid-stream because of politics. Governor Hochul putting the brakes on the program ahead of the election? That's some smart campaign move if you ask me . But let's get real, this is a classic case of "if you can't control what happens directly, try to influence what happens indirectly." The real question is, now that the revenue is in, how will it affect the next election? Will Hochul and her team be able to point to this success as proof of their progressive policies?
I'm loving this, NYC is finally finding its footing with congestion pricing ! I mean, $562M in revenue in just one year? That's insane! And it's all thanks to those cost-cutting measures in the camera system - genius move, MTA! The reduced traffic volume has also had a major impact on air quality and speeds... can't complain about that . But, gotta keep an eye on that lawsuit - hope they sort it out soon . And wow, $15 billion for infrastructure upgrades? That's going to make a huge difference! Fingers crossed everything stays on track
