I'm low-key hyped about this news

- it's about time NYC borough presidents had some real power when it comes to housing decisions! I've been saying for ages that our local leaders need to be more involved in shaping the future of our neighborhoods, and this new system is a huge step in the right direction.

I'm also loving that he's going to consider reversing Council decisions if they don't align with his community-focused approach. This guy is all about putting people over profits, and that's something we need more of.
Of course, there are some concerns about the appeals board, but I think it's a necessary move to prevent developers from pulling applications just for the sake of having one

. We need more homes in areas like Bayside and Rockaway, and if this system helps get that done, then I'm all for it.
Let's keep an eye on these borough presidents and see how they use their newfound power to drive positive change!
