Steven Tyler Accuser Can Proceed With California Sex Abuse Claims Only, Judge Says

Judge Allows California Sex Abuse Claims Against Aerosmith Singer Steven Tyler to Proceed

In a significant development, a Los Angeles County Judge has ruled that the child sex abuse claims brought by Julia Misley against Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler will proceed with California-based allegations. The judge's decision came after a series of hearings in which Misley argued that she was subjected to years of abuse and manipulation by Tyler when she was just a high school sophomore.

Misley claimed that Tyler invited her backstage when they first met in 1973, a month after her 16th birthday, and had sex with her that night. She alleged that the relationship continued for three years, during which time Tyler became her legal guardian and allegedly groomed her into a sexual relationship. The claims also include allegations of physical abuse, humiliation, and emotional distress.

However, in a partial victory for Tyler, the judge has dismissed Misley's separate claims tied to alleged abuse in Oregon, Washington, and Massachusetts. The judge cited statutes of limitations in those states as the reason for dismissing the claims.

In her own public comments leading up to the lawsuit, Misley described how she felt abandoned by her parents and became "lost in a rock & roll culture." She also claimed that Tyler insisted she terminate her pregnancy following an apartment fire in 1975. The allegations against Tyler have sparked widespread attention, with many fans of the band expressing support for Misley.

Aerosmith has released a statement saying they are aware of the developments and will continue to cooperate with authorities.

The case is expected to proceed with California-based claims, which include allegations of sexual battery, sexual assault, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The trial date has not been announced yet.

🤯 just heard about this Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler being sued for sex abuse claims and I'm low-key shocked 🙈 how could someone in a position of power like that take advantage of a teenager? the fact that he allegedly groomed her into a sexual relationship is super disturbing 😷 I feel bad for Julia Misley, she seems like a strong woman who's standing up for herself. it's not surprising that Aerosmith fans are rallying around her though - they're definitely on the right side of this one 💖 I'm curious to see how the trial plays out and what kind of justice will be served 🤔

😔 this is such a heartbreaking story... just thinkin about a young girl bein' taken advantage of by someone who's supposed to be a role model... 💔 steven tyler should've known better than to mess with her life like that 🤯 and now she's stuck dealin with all these emotions and memories again 😩 i hope julia misley gets the justice and support she needs, 'specially after bein' through all this alone 🙏

omg u guys can u believe this?? steven tyler is being sued by a girl who says he abused her when she was 16!! i'm like totally Team Misley rn she seems so brave to speak out about all this and i hope she gets justice 🤯 what's even crazier is that aerosmith is still gonna perform and tour despite all these allegations i mean i love the band but they need to think about their fans' feelings too 💔

OMG 🤯 just saw that news about Steven Tyler's alleged sex abuse claims 🙅‍♂️ I'm all for Misley getting justice 😊 it's crazy to think he was supposed to be this rockstar icon but allegedly did these super messed up things with some fan girl 👀 at least now we know the truth is out and Aerosmith is owning up to it 👍

man this is so messed up 🤕 steven tyler's reputation is already getting tarnished in the 70s and now 50 years later someone is coming forward with these allegations 😱 it's like a rockstar's worst nightmare. i feel bad for julia misley who had to go through all that emotional trauma but at the same time, you gotta wonder if steven tyler was really as clueless or just not aware of his actions back then 🤔 either way, this case is gonna be super public and it'll be interesting to see how aerosmith handles it 👀

omg 🤯 so weird that steven tyler's team was able to get some of the other states' cases dismissed... like, isn't california a bit more lenient on time limits? 🤔 also misley's story is really messed up - i feel bad for her and all, but how did she not realize what was happening at first? like, didn't anyone else suspect anything? 🙃 it's also kinda cringeworthy that tyler invited her backstage when they met... sounds like a super awkward setup 😳
