Wednesday's High School Basketball Scores Round Up a Diverse Roster of Winners and Losers in the World of Illinois Hoops.

In a night that saw teams from all corners of the state flex their muscles on the hardwood, Chicago Prep edged out Westmont 47-36 while Fox Valley's Dundee-Crown took down Crystal Lake Central 50-47. At the other end of the spectrum, British School was left reeling after being dismantled by Intrinsic-Downtown in a 69-32 rout.

In Metro Prep, Noble Academy put on a show for the ages, outscoring Pritzker 91-35 in a convincing victory. Baker's trip to DRW also ended with a loss, as they fell short against their hosts 50-39.

The Northeast region was home to a slew of impressive performances from Grayslake Central, who edged out Grayslake North 46-35, and Plainfield East, who downed Joliet Central 77-56. Bolingbrook bounced back from a loss the week prior, taking down Plainfield North 52-38.

In the South Suburban Blue bracket, Lemont advanced with a 54-41 win over TF South while Wheaton's Bishop Strasburg was not among the winners of this night's non-conference games. Downers Grove South took on Addison Trail in a 66-52 victory while Leyden trounced Proviso East 76-38.

Meanwhile, Ag Science outlasted Hansberry 71-45, with Bowen pulling off a 46-44 upset against Englewood. Meanwhile, IC Catholic continued to make waves by downing Walther Christian 72-35 in the process of advancing its season.

Non-conferences saw Ida Crown take on Clemente and emerge victorious 69-40 while Hampshire edged out Marian Central 61-46.

The rest of the night's games had less dramatic fare, but still showcased each team's mettle. Plainfield South took down Morris 57-29 while Reavis pulled off an upset victory over Hinsdale Adventist in a thrilling match that ultimately went the home team's way.

omg I was at the game on Sat where Dundee-Crown played Crystal Lake Central and it was SO intense!!! they were both killing it on the court but in the end Dundee-Crown's star player scored like 20 points and Crystal Lake Central's players looked soooo tired i think it had something to do with them playing like 4 games in one week anyway I was sitting next to this guy who works at a sports blog and he told me that Dundee-Crown's coach is actually his brother lol

I'm thinking Illinois high school hoops is getting pretty crazy right now . I mean, who would've thought Dundee-Crown could take down Crystal Lake Central? And it's not just those teams, Grayslake Central and Plainfield East were on fire last night too . But you know what's even more surprising - how some of these top teams can still lose like Baker to DRW.

so yeah i was watching some of these games last night and i gotta say, there were some crazy comebacks! ag science outlasting hansberry 71-45 is wild . i'm also loving nobles performance against pritzker, that 91-35 win is insane . and can't forget the matchup between lemont and tf south where lemont came out on top 54-41 . it's always exciting to see the competition heating up in the world of illinois hoops ️.

omg i cant even believe how crazy these scores are like chicago prep beating westmont by 11 points and noble academy taking down pritzker by 56 points its insane how much variance there is between the winners and losers tonight. but what was that one game where british school lost by 37 points to intrinsic-downtown though? how did they even get dismantled like that and also i wonder if anyone in the team was like "hey guys we got this" during the first quarter when it was still 69-32

the high school hoops scene is lit i love how it showcases all sorts of talent across the state, from chicago prep to lemont and every team in between . but what really gets me is how these young players are building their skills and finding wins against tough opponents... it's a reminder that even when we're not winning, we're still learning and growing . and who cares if there were some blowouts like british school? at the end of the day, hoops is all about having fun and pushing ourselves to be better
